For what it's worth: These requirements don't seem too extraordinary to me,
if the plugin is worth it. :) But, since you want to distribute your plugin
publicly, I agree that these requirements might be a roadblock to people
using your plugin. Plus, it will generate lots of support issues for you, as
you'll have to help people just meet the requirements.

As for avoiding them -- is it possible to include MailParse with your code?
