[wp-hackers] What would break if I rename my repository plugin?

I can anyway not change the slug(which caused a hairy mess of a problem in
the past). Just the name in the readme.txt file. That should not result in
any problems right?

Correct.

Most of the time though the name is the slug (and it wasn't clear if he
meant the name / slug / both)
