[wp-hackers] WHOIS is useless if it only links to ARIN

Currently, when I get a comment notification e-mail, I get a link to the
ARIN WHOIS database for the IP address that left the comment, like this
dude that spammed my 5 minutes ago:

<http://ws.arin.net/cgi-bin/whois.pl?queryinput=61.247.3.231>

But if you click through, you'll notice that IP is registered to APNIC,
not ARIN.

There are five regional Internet registries (RIRs) that allocate IP
addresses: ARIN (North America), RIPE (Europe), APNIC (Asia-Pacific,
Oceania), LACNIC (South America), and AfriNIC (Africa).

So why does WordPress only link to ARIN? If I use the command-line
'whois' tool on my Linux box, it queries from the correct one each time.
Not sure what the logic is, but surely it would be able to be ported to
WordPress.

Thoughts?
