Many people do, especially during the beta & RC phases of a release. I  
run it on my main blog, as it is one of the ways I keep on top of  
changes, but I also have the skills to rollback / repair anything that  
might break. I believe http://ma.tt/ is running trunk most, if not  
all, of the time, and that site gets quite a bit of traffic.
