And to clarify too, I also support the GPL (in general).  I would and do plan to license plugins I implement as GPL but honestly I would like the option to not have to, especially for selected vertical markets. For example if I wrote a plugin for option's traders I might want to keep that closed source given it's a vertical,  it's a vertical where the end users make lots of money and have no issue whatsoever with paying for things, and where being able to fund service and support would benefit both the end users and the organization selling to those end users.  

If OTOH I write a generic post metabox fields plugin (which I am doing) that practically everyone could benefit from I would/will definitely license it as GPL.
