Hi,

I have the same problem and still haven't figured out how to do it ....

Maybe deleting the menu using a admin_head hook (http://goo.gl/YaDY)
and then rebuilding the links to them in a submenu using
add_submenu_page
(http://codex.wordpress.org/Adding_Administration_Menus).
It should be possible this way but it wasn't a hurry enough for me to
dig further.
