[wp-hackers] is there a way to filter what plugins show up in plugins.php page?

A potential solution to your problem is to use the /mu-plugins/ directory.
Any plugins placed in that directory are automatically activated on the
blog(s) and do not appear in the plugins screen. Obviously the always-on
part might not be ideal for you, but it will likely solve whatever your
situation is.
Anyone know if there is a more-appriately-named directory in 3.0? This blog
post claims that /wp-content/mu-plugins/ still works :
