Hey Edward..
I am a fellow GSoC aspirant and I really like your idea. If I am not wrong I
think it is a part of the puzzle that is User Permission/ Roles definitions.
I am not too sure if this is too much, but maybe you can consider other
processes like deleting a post/ re editing a post in the workflow to
complete it? That is in essence there are multiple roots (goals of a process
as per your definitions) each defined by the possible actions on the central
item you work on - post. You could also choose to have more central items
like blog design etc.
