[wp-hackers] Canonical Plugins = Optional Modules?

Really excited to learn that Matt et. al. are promoting the concept of the "canonical plugin."

Sounds almost exactly like what I was proposing back in February which I proposed to be called "Optional Modules":

Whatever the case, really glad to see the idea making a comeback and being officially supported, no matter what the name they give it.
