[wp-hackers] Numerous Notices since upgrade

Dear all,

Has Wordpress increased the php error handling with 2.8.3? All of a
sudden I'm getting scores of
Notice: Undefined index: path in xxxxxx on line 479 messages on
multiple plugins. and
Notice: Undefined index: filter in xxxxxx on line 383

Where xxx is the path of the file.

Is there any way to suppress this? They are a bit of a security risk.
