[wp-hackers] custom-write-panel

I tried installing custom-write-panel (
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/custom-write-panel/) on top of my wp
2.6.2 installation to simplify the admin interface for my client. When I try
to create a new panel and submit the details, nothing shows up.

Has anybody here ever used it or know of another plugin that allows
customization of the admin panel to simplify and help structure data?
