So I've looked at 2.1.3 and it seems like this functionality was
either intentionally removed (or half-removed, technically) or somehow
lost when the term/taxonomy stuff came in later. The get_categories()
function is now much shorter and hands the work off to get_terms() for
the most part. I'm not too familiar with this whole concept yet, so if
anyone could help me out that'd be pretty cool - I could definitely
use a couple of pointers in the way terms/taxonomy are handled by WP
now.
Also, does anyone remember hearing anything about this feature being
intentionally moved/cut?
