Hi all --

Per this trac ticket: <http://trac.wordpress.org/ticket/5117>, I am gearing
up to work on a patch that will have the Plugins admin screen indicate when
a particular plugin is _not_ automatically checked for updates.

I would like some feedback for how people think the notification should
_appear_. Remember: these are effectively permanent, so they should be as
unobtrusive as possible. Among the possibilities (and please suggest
others!):

1) A modified "update stripe" below the plugin row. "<plugin name> is not
automatically checked for updates". Make it a different color from "Update
found" notice so it's easy to distinguish. DRAWBACKS: adds permanent
clutter

2) Add text below Version # in the version cell of the row. "Update not
checked"

3) Add text below Description, but in the same table cell. Formatting to
distinguish it from the description text (italic?)

4) Icons instead of text??? Add it to the "Actions" column instead???
Other ideas?

I know others have expressed interest in this, so let's hear it. :)

Thanks,
