[wp-hackers] Plugin main file name

Maybe you could get inspiration from Rob Marsh's Post-Plugin Library
(http://rmarsh.com/plugins/), which serves as a repository of common
code for some other Post-related plugins.
Or maybe I didn't understand your request :)
