Hello,

I recently came across http://structuredblogging.org/ and thought is
seemed like a good idea. It promised to do neat things like ping
upcoming.org if you post an event.

The problem is, it doesn't seem to work with the most recent WordPress,
and after a bit of clicking around on the website (and it's broken
links) I'd have to guess that it is no longer maintained.

So really I guess the question is, are there any plugins that do similar
things, like output microformats - or more importantly, ping services
like upcoming.org for events, or ping other servers for other specific
post types?

Any related chatter about microformats in general would be great too,
from my perspective (are they useful, supported, does anyone like the
idea, etc.). :-)
