[wp-hackers] WordPress Checking Own Pingbacks - Intended Behavior?

Can you further explain what you're trying to say?

How would not filtering local pingbacks break plugins?
I'm not saying don't apply filters to local pingbacks, just don't apply the
*spam* filter to local pingbacks.
