Oh, good grief... If I wasn't talking about a "PHP5 requirement" what
the heck would I have been talking about?!?!  It's been the subject of
this whole rambling branch of the thread for the last two days.  And
while it may not be a difficult question in your opinion, it is fairly
plain that there isn't a clear consensus. 

I'm sure the subject will come up again closer to the time of the wp3
release.
