[wp-hackers] Send email notification @ time of future posting

Hello,
I'm trying to create/modify a plugin that emails a copy of my post when its published. This is not a problem unless I am using a future_post. Does anyone know how to make this work? Its been suggested to me that I need to use the publish_future_post hook. (http://wordpress.org/support/topic/113570?replies=13) 

The problem is, I can't get this to work. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
