-1.  Akismet is not free, so I don't use it.  I even deleted the folder 
(along with hello.php).  I wouldn't want it to be part of the core, where it 
would waste memory and time even if I don't use it.  I need WordPress to be 
faster, not slower.

Unless it's "on" be default there's no reason for it to be in core
(it needs to be "activated" regardless), and reasons for it _not_ to
be (clutters up options if you don't use it).
