Confluence (wiki) has it right:
TinyMCE (3 tabs for 3 modes). When you switch to non-default tab, a tiny
text link appears: "Make this the default editor"

Or maybe just have a box that says "Disable Visual Editor" which will
completely eliminate TinyMCE. Also, there can be a dropdown option where
you can select your default tab or "view", whether that be code or the
visual tab.
