Once you've gone that far, you have all the workings of an edit-in-place system.

Actually TinyMCE lets you specify a stylesheet for use in the rich
editing box. You can edit in green on black if you like, or try to
match your blog's typography or whatever. That is pluggable already.
The filter for the editor stylesheet url is mce_css. Have at it!
