[wp-hackers] Proposal: Merge wp-register.php and wp-login.php

Why do we still have a wp-register.php rather than doing 
wp-login.php?action=register? Right now, there's code duplicated in both 
(some Javascript, the header HTML, etc.)  So, I think we should merge 
the registration into the login script.

I'd be more than happy to make a patch if people think this is a good 
idea, but I thought I'd ask before I went to all the trouble.
