[wp-hackers] Rewrite hooks/filters documentation?

Is there any documentation on how to use the rewrite hooks/filters in v2.x?
I'm looking to redirect requests.

Example: /wp-admin/images/newfile.png ->
/wp-content/plugins/myplugin/image.png

It's actually for TinyMCE and so that I can add some stuff to it without
actually having to add files to it's folder (which is what it wants me to
do), but the above is a simple example.
