[wp-hackers] ASCII Menu Art

I've been wondering about this.. I draw 'menus' in emails often, and I can't seem to find (anywhere online) the 'official' specs for drawing a menu in ASCII....

I think it's something like this:

Main
|Item one
--|Subitem
|Item two

Except it's not... I've used it several times here in the mailing list, and so I'm wondering if anyone knows the right way to do it?
