Yep. I love this trick. Edit c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts or
/etc/hosts with:

xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx wp-plugins.org
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx www.wp-plugins.org

And its off to the races. :)
