I adding some extra stats tracking 
(http://blog.joshuaeichorn.com/archives/2006/12/21/more-spam-fun/) and 
i'm still seeing at least 1 hour block every day go over 1500 spam attempts.

Stats wise it might be nice if there was a hook any plugin would call 
when it found a spam, that way I could release my stats code as a plugin 
instead of a hack.
