[wp-hackers] Dropdown Category Box For Sidebar

Hello,

I am looking for code that will create a dropdown menu in my sidebar that 
will allow me to choose the catergories & children of categories it displays.  

So far the only code I have found for a dropdown menu displays ALL of my 
categories allowing me to hide only one. I'm not sure what I want even 
exist.  Any help with this is appreciated.
