To be fair, neither WordPress.org nor WordPress.com credit Apache, PHP,
Linux/FreeBSD, and the other open source software that forms the "shoulders
of giants" that those sites are built on.  My sites certainly don't, and
yours don't either.

Maybe they should, but I personally don't feel like I'm "cheating" that
software by not promoting it on my site.

I think we can all agree that It's A Good Thing to credit WordPress, but
that maybe the lack of a credit doesn't imply a moral shortcoming.
