Are there any UI designers working on the 1.6 interface?

I understand ideas from the shuttle project are being rolled into 
1.6... but that project seems a little underground at the moment, is 
there something/one co-ordinating work in this area?

It would be good to roll some usability into the new do-not-use UI as 
it appears to be adding features which, while cool, are adding a level 
of complexity WP has not had before.
