That is why I like A Small Orange, a wonky rewrite rule on my site was
causing a plugin to fill up the connection queue in Apache (was doing
a getimagesize on a URL) so they tracked that down and just disabled
the plugin, letting me know so I could fix it instead of disabling my
account or DB.

If I wasn't at work I'd set them up on my development box to see what
they are doing but I don't know if I'll get time before I leave for
Australia tomorrow. However the number of comments displayed should
not effect anything except for the page rendering speed, a well
written query shouldn't tax the database at all especially with a
database that is as simple and normalized as the WP database.

Maybe something like having the author publish average resource usage
should be a requirement to get their plugin listed?
