[wp-hackers] question about caching system

Hey y'all. I was fiddling around with caching today and am a bit confused 
by something. With caching turned on, and database count being printed in 
the footer, I am still getting 15 SQL queries for consecutive identical 
requests. i thought most or all of these would be coming from persistent 
disk cache?

sorry if i am missing something obvious.
