[wp-hackers] Counting failed logins

Been thinking:

Some code is introduced that notifies a blog owner that someone is
battering their login file. They get that email.
They post to the forum "HELP IM BEING HACKED" or something similar.
There's nothing we can do is there ?

Change your password:
There is enough around about decent passwords and if they are using
"BillyBob" there's no guarantee that they'll use anything better is there ?

Backup your site:
It's possibly too late for that.

Talk to your host:
About what ?

So although I started this thread, thinking it through I cannot see a
resolution - so should the can of worms be opened ?
