[wp-forums] Where to post for support with discontinued plugins?

I tell them there is no support available. Just like using an outdated
theme. They have to find a different way to do what they want.

Say if someone's asking for help with a plugin that is no longer supported
by the author, do you still recommend them to post in that plugin's
subforum? If they post on the subforum their chances of receiving help may
be dramatically less than on the How To forum
