[wp-forums] host vs. WP issues

MANY threads today on variations of can't login, server dropped connection, etc.  Looks like several hosting companies, including 1&1, Fat Cow, Go Daddy, possibly others.  Fat Cow has now told a user it's under "brute force attack";  

GoDaddy continues to tell users that it's a WordPress issue -- which seems unlikely??   Any advice about what to reply to that?   -  they're all getting the identical "server has unexpectedly dropped the connection"   Sites seem fine from front end...
