[wp-forums] Does the media drag'n'drop use base64 encoding?

This happens when you use ie or ff and drag images (or paste them) into 
the visual editor, its a browser thing, not WordPress. The drag and drop 
uploading only works when you drag the image into the
uploading drop zone in the add new media window.

Dragging then into the visual editor causes the browser to insert them
inline using base 64 encoding. i believe there's a plugin that ads basic 
drop support to the media editor.

Off to see if the OP in the original topic was trying to drag images 
straight into a Post/Page but, in the meantime, this might help someone 
else out.
