We can't change it (unless you want to offer Otto a LOT of beer) because it's a hassle.

I would change the email on the typo account to something else (gmail?) and then register with the right email and the right name.

As for abandoned plugin.... well.  Most of the time people fork. It's not the best way about it, but it's hard to say if people are ever going to come back, and there's a lot of feel-good about your old work.
