I got an itch to, maybe unnecessarily, comment on this.
As I see it, you have done an excellent job on the WordPress forum, and 
I never believed that you were paid to do that.

If you were working for a telpehone company, you should get payed - that 
one reason for doing it.
And I see no difference whatsoever, if you are working for a company 
that uses WordPress.
wordpress.org and wordpress.com are simply not the same.

( If I work as a photographer for a studio for a living, I could easily 
work for free at my friends wedding. )
