And this is where WP will start - if it hasn't already - to fail on the
support side.
For those with long memories, Craig and I used to throw the odd support
forum post to the hackers list. They were the ones that we had tried to
answer but could not - and this was with 1.2.x Those put to the list
were fairly rare - I could post _daily_ now. Those people see many other
posts get answered and their request disappear. I make a point of
hitting the 'no-replies' list every day and that list increases with
genuine requests for which no-one has the answer.
No-one who frequents the forums enough to see them that is.
This isn't a criticism but there are people who could answer those
questions but they don't visit the forums for some reason. I could
hazard guesses why but I'm sure they vary widely.
But if WP _is_ to become more than what it is - and I maintain that it
has moved way beyond being just a blogging tool - then the support
mechanism have to be there to some extent. But who ?
If you blog, the support we offer is very good.
If you want to extend ? It lacks.
The code is racing ahead. We aren't and I cannot see how we can catch up.
