There is a sticky in the 2.0 forum that clearly states that 2.0 is now in a
final release and asks users to post in the appropriate forum. If people
aren't going to take the time to read that sticky, and poke around a minute
before posting, what's to say they will click a version number or add a tag.
Many, many people come to the forums with a single focused reason, to get an
answer to their question, and often do not look at a bigger picture, nor do
they know the history of the versions. They know they have 2.0, see a
2.0and post. Until the forum is locked, it's simply going to happen.
However,
due to events beyond most of our control, this issue is going to persist
long into 2.1 and longer, as new users will find 1.5.2 posts, 1.2 posts,
etc. Matt's vision is to create a codex and piece of software so water
tight that the forums are obsolete, therefore, the effort isn't in making
the forums the most concise source of information, rather, it's a stepping
stone to his vision. We that volunteer there must either accept that
reality or find another area to volunteer in.

I myself have had some issues, and simply kept some distance, rather than
get frustrated and burned out. But the community keeps me around.

Not sure this is at all constructive, nor is it meant as criticism, simply
an observation.
