[wp-forums] This needs debating please

I was thinking OT as in the kind of questions that started this thread.
 
Anything political or otherwise that far off-topic is not something we need
on the WP forums, and the best thing to do with that is have the mods lock
threads and delete posts as appropriate.

I disagree with the off-topic forum idea.  There are a multitude of fourms
out there that have OT forums, or forums specific to a topic.  If you want
to discuss them, seek them out.  Everyone using the WP support forums either
have/will have a blog, which allows for the discussion/speaking of one's
mind regarding anything one wishes.  The more concise the forums are, the
easier to assist WP users.  Also, IMO, an OT forum could scare away
potential users if they stumbled into the wrong forum, be it a highly
technical thread, or a politically charged one.
Again, just my 2¢.
