So the member name points to their profile and their profile points to
their site.
I can see the virtue of this, but then unless someone adds the site with
the problem to the post it will lead to complaints that it adds to forum
helpers problems. I like the one-click to their site - though I am
increasing finding it leads to mambo, or phpnuke or splash screens and
that alone annoys me.

To go with the rest though..

1 - People send their nominations to an address
2 - The person nominated is reviewed by myself and skippy ?
3 - The person is approached to see if they are happy ?
4 - The change to 'whatever' status is made.

Now.. if that is okay.. does the person have any additional powers or is
the label the end in itself. Given how often I have had to use what
'powers' I have, I would suggest that the label is indeed the end result.
This allows users to be more confident of answers from selected users,
it is an expression of trust from others in that person, it is an
acknowledgement of commitment demonstrated over time and it is something
for that person to 'show off' and be proud of.

IF what I've written above is acceptable - and if you are reading this
then your opinion matters so chip in - then we need an address (easy
enough to set up) and we need a name. Someone posted a suggested name
which made me laugh when i saw it but I cannot find the post now...
