[wp-forums] This one is for Podz, because he asked.

I agree with Skippy and Podz here. I think feeds are the way to go.
That said... I've never heard Matt say subscriptions will never
happen (I suppose he may have). I can say that they will in the
code, either in bbPress core or as a plugin. I cannot say whether or
not they will/should be implemented at WP-F specifically.
Good points all, from all of you....
Personal opinion only on that one point: I do NOT want to mess with feeds.
I hate feeds, I hate pings, I hate stuff that lands on my machine without
direct intervention (MINE!) I do NOT want to have to have an aggregator or
some other "appliance program" JUST TO KEEP UP WITH A THREAD IN WHICH I'M
INTERESTED. *sigh* Why do you tecno-folks always have to complicate things
enormously for no real benefit? Just because you can, I guess....
Actually, the "favorites" thing works really well - except when I'm in the
middle of 9 million things and I don't WANT to open another tab just to hit
wp-support to see if my list has anything new on it. Sorry guys, but simple
emails to a subscribe to list is INFINITELY simpler for the real world here.
..
[Oh yeah - I know I'm really a major minority about some things.... but I do
have a big mouth and opinions....]
