Probably the same reason as me -- I like the freedom of my own hosting
(I like to use bzr for version control) and don't want to have this
duplicated in the wp-plugins.org SVN.

If I could just have my plugin listed, not hosted, then I'd be there in
a flash. (not the proprietary /dev/dsp-hogging sort)
