I hardly dare say it, but I'm going to anyway.

WYSIWYG, anyone?

It might be interesting to us to examine the possibility. If nothing 
else, then we could have it be an option in the "options > writing" 
page... it's already somewhat there: "simple controls / advanced controls".

I'm sure some will like it, and if it's a tab like it is on Blogger, 
then it'll be easy to switch.
