[wp-design] A Quick Sketch

I like how the categories have a white background. Though I don't so
much like the blue 'header', looks too much like an OS leftover of some
sort.
Now I personally don't like the borders around each element myself, but
as you'll know I like to just work with surfaces. The lines have a
tendency to confuse my eye ever so slightly without truly bringing the
elements inside them together.
Now I'm all for consistency in the design, so I'll hold final judgment
until we do something with more elements, but for the write page I
don't think they're needed.
"Also with regards to stretching, I'd really like to restrict that. I'm
on a 1600x 1200 screen, it really doesn't look very tight when it
stretches all the way across. Yes I understand the majority users are
probably on 1024s, but I'd like to restrict it to what's shown in the
jpg. Not have it spill any further, or to actually stop stretching
after a certain value."
I agree. I'm probably going to do a liquid layout option for K2, which
will do the same.
I like how you separate the WP logo and the site name, though I think
the two should exchange places.
Now that I see your WP logo, I can't help think of a pair of large
cartoon breasts :P
