Well... Akismet has been one of the best 3 dogs i had in my life... "Akismet
has caught 194,923 spam for you since you installed it."
However they marked 2 of my comments as spam ;)

Akismet hasn't been much of a good dog to me. I've been unspamming my own
comments on my blog a few dozen times, and I still get marked as spam. I've
sent e-mails to this list, I sent a support request of which I've gotten to
response, and I'm sick of being constantly marked as spam not only on my
blog, but on everyone else's blog.

That's the wrong solution, a band-aid on a gaping cut. :)
If Akismet caught two of your own comments, you probably noticed
immediately and unspammed them and the system learned from that. (As I
assume it doesn't catch your comments today.)
That's the point!
There is no perfect spam system. However, one that learns can (I think)
stay highly effective over the long term where more static systems might
fail.
Think of it like training a dog. If you don't say "bad dog" when it
makes a mistake, if you just cover your eyes and pretend the mistake
didn't happen, it won't get any better and you'll reinforce bad habits.
Help make Akismet a good dog.
