 As has been pointed out time and time again, I didn't actually '''test'''
 the changes :) - I only used them for a test import on my own site with
 few translations loaded, but could see it was the source of significant
 slowdown

 Quite a number of strings will contain them indeed, and will certainly
 account for some of the speed increase.

 Luckily that is easily fixable, just remove the $project_id from prepare..
