 With this patch in the original variables are highlighted with a dashed
 red line:
 [[Image(variable-no-comment.png)]]
 If there is a comment or context with explanation for the variable, it is
 displayed in a tooltip like the glossary:
 [[Image(who-pinged-when.png)]]

 The styling is obviously a matter of taste and could be changed.

 Benefits: make translators are more aware of the variable (and possibly
 how it should be interpreted when translating).

 Optionally this could be converted into a plugin but I think it adds
 enough value to warrant adding it to GlotPress itself.
