 I don't believe that a new user setting will solve this in a good way.
 Most users will still be confused about the option and curious what the
 default value would be. I believe adding a filter to show/hide it is good
 enough.

 I added a patch that goes back to the previous situation and adds a filter
 that lets you control it. From here you can hide it if
 {{{$project->source_url_template()}}} return false. You can even build a
 plugin that lets the user controls it.
