Comment:

 Any reason for picking Alt instead of Meta (Cmd / Ctrl)?

 I'd chosen Meta as a bit of a mnemonic - Alt as an alternative text, and
 Control like a Control Sample, where text stays the same, as it does here.

 I'm checking with the accessibility bods to see if there are any existing
 bindings to either shortcut when focused in a textarea.
